Job Description

As a part of the IS Data Center team, the Network Engineer will monitor, maintain and support existing Data Center based server, storage and backup devices in a manner that ensures the necessary levels of security, availability, disaster recovery and business continuity are maintained. The incumbent will develop, implement and maintain all necessary backup and recovery processes in a manner that meets industry best practices along with the business and functional needs of the Organization.  This position will participate in the design and implementation of additional or replacement server, storage and backup devices. Provide support for VMWare, Solar Winds Orion, ADFS, DNS, IP and related issues as needed. Provide support for other IS team members to assist in identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.

Network Engineer

  • Maintain, monitor and support server, storage, backup, recovery and related systems in a manner that ensures availability to meet the Organization’s business needs. Ensure that all necessary data is backed up and recoverable in accordance with requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems directly related to Data Center systems and services in a timely manner. Provide assistance to identify and resolve other IS related issues as needed.
  • Utilize various system and service monitoring systems to ascertain the status, functionality, and health of monitored items on a regular basis. Review this information to determine patterns and attempt to predict problems that might arise later.
  • Provide support for CISCO, Solar Winds Orion, ADFS, DNS, Internal and External IP and related systems / services as needed.
  • Monitor, maintain and support organizations virtual server environment and control systems (VMware, etc) n a manner that ensures availability to meet the Organization’s business needs.

Job Requirements


  • College Degree, preferably in Computer Sciences or related computer field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with CISCO, Avamar, VMware, Solar Winds and SAN technologies
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with Windows Server, 2003, 2008, 2012, and 2016
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with ADFS, DNS, and related


  • Knowledge of CIS controls and general security guidelines
  • Certification in Microsoft, MCSE, Cisco CCNA, and VMware VCP
